The last Audi TT will be the S line competition plus

Audi announced in 2019 that they plan to stop the production of the iconic TT, but that doesn’t stop them from making a new S line competition plus trim. The name is a bit of a mouthful, but it’s nice to know that Audi hasn’t thrown away the TT just yet as production stops in 2021.

While the S line competition plus is mostly an exterior style upgrade to the Audi TT, there are some updates to the cabin which we will cover.

New colours and gloss black details in the Audi TT S line competition plus.

Updates to the exterior style come mostly in the use of colour. For starters, gloss black has been used to finish the grille surround, air inlets, wing mirror end caps, sill trim, rear diffuser and the wing. 19-inch wheels have been finished with matte black to match. Buyers can optionally upgrade the wheels to 20-inch.

These black details stand out against the four colour options Audi offers. Turbo blue, Tango red, Glacier white and Chronos Gray. The latter being a first for the TT series.

Upgraded seats and more colour to light up the cabin.

Seats and more colour cover the two upgrades for the cabin of the Audi TT S line competition plus. That name is not getting any shorter. At least it’s not as long as a certain special edition Range Rover. Back on topic, the leather seats now have Alcantara inserts and the choice of red or blue contrast stitching. Buyers can also upgrade the standard leather to Nappa leather which is notably softer and more light-resistant.

The rest of the cabin based on the S line sport package which features loads of dark tones that the S line competition plus will give a little colour to. Buyers will get to choose between red, blue or grey trim on the centre console (we hope that buyers will match the trim to the contrasty stitching). Additional brushed aluminium lights up the interior trim too.

Lastly, the S line competition plus will receive Audi’s 12.3-inch virtual cockpit as standard.

What you need to know about the engine.

Audi has equipped this TT S line competition plus with the 180 kW and 370 Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Everything about this variant and others that use this engine is the exact same with one exception. The S line competition plus rides 10 mm lower.

Orders open this month, October and deliveries are expected to start in December for both the Coupé and Roadster versions.
