Pininfarina revealed the Foxconn Model E

Foxconn has announced three electric vehicles and together with Pininfarina, shown off the Model E sedan. Foxconn is a new name that we are hearing about because they are an Apple iPhone maker which now has a Model C compact crossover, a Model T bus, and a Model E sedan in the works.

Pininfarina is not a new name to us as the Italian design house has worked on the designs of many cars before. It is on their YouTube channel that we have been shown a brief glimpse at the Model E sedan that they helped design.

The exterior, and interior too, are sleek and elegant. It’s not too far out there for as far as luxury EVs go, think of the models that Lucid are starting to produce. Where it is very unique is its lighting signature.

Instead of regular pannels, the Foxconn Model E has “smart surfaces” on the front and rear fascias and the doors. These can illuminate a pulse across the car, say “Hello” and direct cyclists. Part of its smart design includes facial recognition.

Inside the Foxconn Model E is a wrap-around design that extends from the front doors and into the rear doors. The driver themselves gets one widescreen that is used to display the instrument cluster, infotainment system and the side-view cameras.

Still more details about the Foxconn Model E to come.

Pininfarina says that this electric car will deliver 559 kW and can reach 100 km/h in a very fast 2.8 seconds. The total range is predicted to be 750 km, but that’s obviously only if you are driving at a more acceptable speed.

Foxconn intends for this model to be released to the market in 2023 which is also around then that more details will release. It will likely directly compete with Tesla and Lucid who have already reached or are busy reaching the market. It also doesn’t separate itself much from them which might not play into its favour.
