Hummer EV reveals what the crab means

It was only last week that Hummer revealed their new EV logo featuring a crab. It came with the line “Real revolutionaries forge their own direction.” It turns out that this was not a birth sign, but rather the first and probably the biggest new feature of the newcomer. Since the reveal of the crab logo, Hummer EV has now given a sneak peek into what this feature is all about.

What is the Hummer EV crab all about?

Think about the features of a crab. They have claws, hard shells, live in the ocean and walk sideways. That last one is what Hummer is talking about. Now, four-wheel steering is nothing new and is slowly becoming the norm on higher-range cars. However, we imagine that GMC has either given it more rotation or some kind of off-road feature. Either way, this will hopefully parallel park the massive EV.

Here’s the sneak peek of what GMC is calling a revolutionary turn:

What we see in the video is a crab walking in front of the new wheels for the Hummer EV which look as big as ever. Through an infotainment system, we see the driver activate the Crabwalk feature. It would appear as though the driving feature takes a moment to activate before all four wheels can be steered in the same direction.

What is disappointing is the angle that is shown in the video. It does not seem very horizontal like the crab would suggest. This is, however, just a sneak peek and we are sure that GMC Hummer has a very good reason for this to be their key feature. Like we mentioned earlier, it would be a very useful parking tool at the very least.
