Mazda unveils new CX-30 for South Africa
Mazda has officially launched the new CX-30 compact SUV. This launch is part of the brand’s seventh-generation following the Mazda3. The lineup in South Africa will consist of three derivatives; Active, Dynamic and Individual.
“We are excited that we are now able to offer our customers this superb new contender in the compact SUV category. Made for a wide range of fans, especially younger people who are approaching significant life transitions, the Mazda CX-30 was engineered so meticulously that it leaves you feeling like it was made just for you.” – Craig Roberts, Managing Director Mazda Southern Africa
Mazda CX-30 is a larger Mazda3.
Mazda said they want to combine the size of an SUV with the “sleek profile of a coupé” which becomes evident when you compare the CX-30 to the Mazda3. Do you think they succeeded?
As standard, the CX-30 will come with LED Headlamps with Auto levelling and an option of nine different exterior colours. The lower range models (Active and Dynamic) will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels finished in metallic grey. The range-topping Individual will come with larger 18-inch metallic silver alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin of the Active and Dynamic, you will be met with dark grey cloth seats and a black and navy blue dashboard. Buyer’s of the Dynamic has an optional greige cloth for the seat trim. That is not the colour, it’s the type of cloth. The Spruce describes it as “an unfinished woven or knitted fabric that hasn’t been bleached or dyed.”
The Individual models get a different set up with black perforated leather seats and a dashboard finished in black and brown.
All three derivatives come standard with an 8.8-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto. Another standard feature is a Head-Up Display (HUD) which is not a standard feature on most cars right now.
