2022 Mini Cooper new looks
The Mini Cooper is getting a facelift for 2022. This will include both Hardtop and Convertible ranges which will give them both new looks and features. These updates apply to the entire range including the JCW and Electric models.
With more features, the price has naturally gone up. Local pricing and details have not been announced.
Stronger looks and less chrome for the 2022 Mini Cooper.
A bigger grille with a body-colour insert dominates the face with the big ground LED headlights. The headlights are now LED as standard and the body colour insert replaces the black insert that was there before. We much prefer this new look from the front.
At the rear, the fascia has been revised and the more performance orientated models (S and JCW) get a diffuser.
There are several other options that buyers can pick from, naturally for an additional cost. These include:
- New colour options.
- New wheel options.
- Black and blue multicolour roof.
- Black pack that removes all the chrome.
Updates to the standard cabin features.
Inside the cabin is a new steering wheel that sits in front of a digital gauge cluster. In the centre of the dashboard is an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both of which will come standard across the range. If you select the optional navigation upgrade, the car gets Apple CarPlay but not Andriod Auto. Very disappointing.
The rest of the dashboard gets a slightly new layout and updated air vents. Lane departure warning has also been added as standard while the rest of the driver-assist features remain optional. Those optional cabin features are:
- Adaptive cruise control.
- Electronic handbrake.
Not much has changed underneath the car.
The engine and transmission options remain exactly the same as they did before. What is new is the updates adaptive suspension system that’s goal is to balance sportiness and comfort.
What do you think about the 2022 Mini Cooper? Is it an improvement on the last or did too much change?
