Subaru confirms a more powerful Forester

Subaru Southern Africa will be bumping up its Forester line-up with two new 2.5-litre variants. These more powerful models are expected to arrive in March 2021 and will replace the current mid-spec 2,0i-L ES variant.

This is Subaru‘s best-selling model, so obviously, new varients had to come with updated looks. This includes new orange details and five body colours to choose from that all sit upon 18-inch wheels. The orange continues into the cabin where new water repellent seats will be offered inside the Subaru Forester.

Increasing the power by 21 kW and 43 Nm, the Subaru Forester will now make 136 kW and 239 Nm. Subaru also claims that will consume just 7.6 L/100 km.

Safety has also been upgraded with new standard features. This includes Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist system, blind-spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. High-beam assist, steering-responsive headlamps and reverse automatic braking will also come part of the standard safety package.

Right now, Subaru has not revealed any pricing for the new models, but we can expect to get them closer to the March 2021 launch date. We do know that each model is sold with a three-year/75,000 km Maintenance Plan as well as a five-year/150,000km Warranty.
