The new Audi Q3 Sportback is in South Africa

Audi has launched their new Q3 Sportback in South Africa and it is quite a stand out model. It fits into the compact SUV class with a coupé shape, which makes this Audi’s first-ever compact crossover. The Q3 Sportback will complete the range Audi has planned and it makes sense for it to be available in South Africa.

The Audi Q3 Sportback is designed to be even stronger.New Audi Q3 Sportback front

The Q3 Sportback has sport in the name, so obviously Audi has given it a sporty design. It also comes with a geometry test that I’m sure you weren’t expecting. See if you know how many sides each of these shapes have. It comes with a three-dimensional octagonal grille finished in black. Now that you’re warmed up, the air inlets have a trapezoidal shape. That’s it with the test, lets get on with the rest of the design features.

The bumper stands out with a flat blade, in fact, the whole car does when you get it in bolder colours die to the silver highlights which in the S line version adds even more aluminium highlights. A low roofline to show off the D-pillars has been added to make the Sportback look stronger than the standard Audi Q3.

LED headlights and taillights are standard but with one of the optional upgrades, get Matrix tech LEDs. This is also all riding on 18-inch allow wheels but if you want them even bigger, 19-inch wheels are optional.

A high-quality interior trim on all models.New Audi Q3 Sportback interior

The sporty design is continued inside the Audi Q3 Sportback which uses horizontal lines for speed and space. Audi claims that this is one of the most spacious models in its segment with leather and leatherette seats that can be upgraded to Alcantara. As standard, there is more Alcantara that makes up for the rest of the soft-touch interior material.

The rear seats are adjustable and just behind them is a 530-litre boot while those seats are up. If you are looking for more storage space, the storage and luggage compartment package is optional. Other optional features include a two-piece panoramic glass sunroof and the Comfort Package which electrified the front seats for adjustability and heat.

Things are more digital in the most recent Audis and there is no exception here. The Audi Q3 Sportback comes with an 8.8-inch infotainment system as standard. The top of the line model gets a 12,3-inch screen that includes navigation. The system is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Everything is lit up with a standard ambient lighting system that can be upgraded to include 30 colours while the sound lovers can optionally get Audi phone box and the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System.

The Q3 Sportback 40 TFSI quatro S line (the name is that long) has a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine mated to a seven-speed  S tronic Transmission. Its peak outputs reach 132 kW and 320 Nm pushed through all four wheels that can sprint to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.

As standard, both models will come with progressive steering and a sports suspension. Both can be adjusted through the Audi drive select’s six settings. There will also be numerous safety and driver’s assistance features. This includes lane departure warning, lane change warning and Rear parking aid.
