New Renault Duster Techroad with pricing
A range that was completed with the Duster 4×4 has now been given two Techroad variants, this is the Renault Duster Techroad. The whole goal of the new duster range was to make a more assertive and stable look on their already locally successful Duster range while now adding more options for buyers. The Techroad variants do not replace the 4×4 Duster as there is, unfortunately, no 4×4 Techroad.
The new design features of the Renault Duster Techroad.
The more stable stance of the new Renault Duster Techroad is matched with a new Iron Blue finish and gloss-black door mirrors. The overall profile was left mostly unchanged to keep the Duster recognisable, although Renault does boast about the new front and rear skid plates, silver roof rails and a C-Shaped light signature. The grille has been beefed up with some additional chrome details while the wheels are 17-inches and Diamond-Cut.
Stunning blue trim that could be used more in the Duster Techroad cabin.
Blue trim finds it’s way all over the cabin of the Renault Duster Techroad, from the high-quality upholstery to accents around the dashboard. Matched with the black theme, the blue does look great, but we do think that the dashboard could do with more. Renault also boasts about the passenger space in the new Duster as well as a 478-litre boot behind the modular interior.
The infotainment system comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as well as GPS Navigation as standard. Below that are the physical controls for the Automatic Climate Control. As an optional upgrade, Renault offers leather seats with an extra R10,088 price tag.
Three engine options and great ground clearance.
There are three engine options for the Renault Duster, two petrol and one diesel. These come in 1.6-litre V16 and turbocharged 1.5 dCi flavours, the latter having a diesel option. This is connected to a 6-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic gearbox which the diesel engine comes with as well.
An unfortunate speed limiter comes as standard as part of the safety features. However, the new Duster still gets some good features too. These include Cruise Control, ABS with EBD and EBA, rear parking distance control and hill start assist.
Buyers if the Duster 1.5 dCi Dynamique, not in Techroad guise, will benefit a lot from the following off-road features. Ground clearance of 210mm, 30° approach angle and a 34° departure angle.
Local pricing of the new Renault Duster.
As standard, including the Techroad variant, the Renault Duster will come standard with a 5-year/150,000km mechanical warranty and a 6-year anti-corrosion warranty. Services take place at 15,000km intervals, and a standard 3-year/45,000km service plan applies.
