Lamborghini reveal the already sold out Sián Roadster
Lamborghini has revealed its new Sián Roadster and it is probably one of the coolest hybrid cars to date. The name Sián means flash or lightning which is a great description of how fast this car was sold, and for how fast it goes. That’s right, from the limit if 19 units made, they have all been sold already. This car has a whole lot of interesting and unique features, so dive into them.
The Lamborghini Sián Roadster is an open-top hybrid supercar.
The open-top looks stunning with the rest of the hexagonal bodywork and strong features. In the front, there are the iconic Y-shaped headlights matched with carbon–fibre pieces. This leads us to the wheels which are painted in Oro Electrum Gold, 20-inch in the front and 21-inch in the rear.
The rest of the car is painted in Uranus Blue which stands out so well against all the carbon-fibre in the rear section. Here we are met with hexagonal taillights and the aero wings. Just a glace and this Lamborghini stands out even amongst its own kind.
Amazing materials and customizable 3D printed parts.
Trimmed in white leather and light grey material, Glauco Blue details the interior of the Lamborghini Sián Roadster along with more Oro Electrum Gold. That gold colour being what Lamborghini uses exclusively on their hybrids. With all the buttons available, it feels like a true supercar that is ready to launch into orbit. Some of those buttons are used for the infotainment screen that is lower than what you would initially expect.
Newly designed air vents fit incredibly well into the dashboard and because Lamborghini is 3D printing them, buyers can get their initials on them too.
Lamborghini uses a new hybrid system with a supercapacitor in this Sián Roadster.
Lamborghini fitted the Sián Roadster with their massive 6.5-litre V12 engine that by itself makes 577 kW. Thanks to the new hybrid system, a 48 V e-motor that is incorporated into the gearbox, this car gets up to 602 kW!
This is Lamborghini also says goodbye to lithium-ion because it has a supercapacitor in the bulkhead instead. It can store 10 times more power and is 3 times lighter and because of regenerative braking in this Sián is so efficient, the battery will fully charge every time you brake.
While Lamborghini has avoided exact numbers, the Sián Roadster should get from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of over 350 km/h. Even with numbers that are playing it safe, this car is a monster.
Smart materials.
This last feature is a bit of a complicated one to explain, so we will keep it simple. The Sián has cooling vanes made of a smart material unique to Lamborghini. The temperature generated by the exhaust system can trigger them to react by rotating that opens the cooling system up.
That feature and just about everything about this new Lamborghini is just amazing and we are so happy that we get to talk about it and maybe even one day see one on the distant roads.
