Ford Family Fun could entertain you too

Ford South Africa, like other car manufacturers, has suspended production during the COVID-19 lockdown. Suspended on manufacturing cars that is, because as it turns out, they have still been busy with a kids activity book.

“Whilst taking care of our physical health in self-isolation is important, we need to take care of our mental health too. You cannot have one without the other. They work hand in hand,” says Dr Herina Grobler, Occupational Medical Practitioner. “Now, more than ever, we need to take extra care of ourselves, and one another, as we try and adapt to this so-called new normal.”

This is why Ford created the ‘Family Fun HUB’, a way to keep children busy whilst indoors, giving you the much-needed space to work or rest. It’s filled with spot the difference, connect the dots, guess the material, colouring-in and maze puzzles that can be printed from home.

While made for your kids, we challenge you to spend a while and do it too, either with your loved ones or by yourself. When the little ones have completed an activity, share it on social media with the tags @FordSouthAfrica #FordKids #StayHome.

Ford says more activities will appear on their Family Fun HUB over the next few days to keep your children busy.

An active supporter for South Africa against COVID-19

While Ford gives family fun to people at home, they have also made contributions to South Africa in the fight to reduce the curve of COVID-19. They have loaned vehicles to several organizations like Gift of the Givers, Laudium Disaster Management and the South African Red Cross Society to aid in the relief.

“We are exceptionally proud to be supporting several NGOs and their teams of dedicated volunteers with vehicles prior to, during and after the lockdown period as they assist the authorities with a wide range of measures to distribute essential healthcare and food items, educate communities on the importance of hygiene, and provide crucial medical assistance.” – Neale Hill, MD of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.

Also gaining permission from the South African government, Ford has been allowed to repair their vehicles that are used in essential services that include emergency medical and security vehicles. This does not include customer vehicles.
