Ricky Brabec on Motorbikes

“We’re here. We won!”
Coming in with 40h 02’ 36” with Honda, Brabec has become the first American to win the Dakar. This is not the only first Brabec would take. This was also Honda’s first win since their return in 2013. Both Brabec and Honda have shown a lot of patience and perseverance over the years and it has shown results.

Quads with Ignacio Casale

“We worked hard”
Last year, Casale races in the SSV category. This year he returned to Quads and went right back to be the two-time winner from Chile he is. His consistency was incredible, winning four stages and only coming out of the top four once. Racing for Yamaha, he got a time of 52h 04’ 39”

In the cars with Carlos Sainz

“We have gone flat out from the beginning”
A Dakar veteran, Sainz took the podium with two other very experienced competitors. With team mini, he got 42h 59’ 17” with his co-driver Lucas Cruz. There was very little room for error on Sainz’s path to victory with competitors close behind him all the way.

SSV’s taken by Casey Curry

“I’m blown away, man!”
The Dakar is always about consistency, that couldn’t be truer for Casey Curry. He was up against many opponents who had several stage wins. Unlike them, Curry and his co-driver Sean Berriman never had a bad stage for team Monster Energy. Taking the win with 53h 25′ 52”.

Andrey Karginov takes the trucks

The Russian team with Karginov took the trucks in Dakar 2020 by storm. With an average start, Karginov took seven stage wins, leaving his opponents in the sandstorm he left behind him. Karginov, with his co-driver Andrey Mokeev, and mechanic Igor Leonov came in with a time of 46h 33′ 36” for team Kamaz.
