The Continental GT V8 has a new twin-turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 developing 405 kW and 770 N.m. There is an all-wheel drive, however, the Continental will prefer rear-wheel drive. An ‘active wheel drive system’ will switch to all-wheel drive when the road requires, while the air suspension makes it feel as though there are no bumps on the road at all. With top speeds of 318 km/h and reaching 0 – 100 in 4.1 seconds, the Continental does not joke.

While easy to compare to the bigger heavier W12 engine we have seen previously, this V8 doesn’t fall far behind. In fact, the lighter weight is actually a plus.

Getting inside

Getting inside really makes you feel the car. The interior is all one colour, which looks stunning with its excellent finish. Colours are also all customizable. You can choose to mix and march the exterior and interior to your personal style.

The dashboard is lined with sustainably sourced Black Walnut trees and a display system that literally rotates for the information that you want. A touch screen monitor and three classic gauges seamlessly hide behind what at first glance seems like a smooth empty space.

If the temperature suddenly drops, which it does so often here, or you are driving with the roof down next to the beach, the Continental GT has an improved heating system. With a new neck, seat, steering wheel, and armrest warmers. These warmers are also hotter and quieter than any Bently before.
