Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe set to star in a Johannesburg charity event

The Alfa Romeo 4C Coupe, one of South Africa’s most unique and sought-after performance cars is set to take centre-stage at a gala evening of fundraising with Women of Worth (WOW) Johannesburg, a social group of like-minded and positive women working together to create interesting member events and have a positive impact on our amazing country.

The Alfa Romeo 4C has maintained a long waiting-list since its introduction in 2014, with fewer than forty examples having been sold locally. Adding to the desirability as well as the collectability of the model, the WOW auction features the last Coupe variant available this year ahead of the highly anticipated local release of the Spider early in 2016, and forms part of an evening of Motown, Music and Motors presented by Fiat Group Automobiles South Africa and Fiat Chrysler Fourways.

WOW hosted their first charity event in 2014 and saw funds raised for Heavenly Valley School in Soweto. WOW has subsequently taken on a bigger, more impactful goal in 2015. The plan is to create a sustainable bursary fund to support young women studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. Each year one young woman from Diepsloot will be identified and empowered with a quality university education paid for by the fund.

WOW has partnered with Edu Fun FEP (Further Education Project, 069-772-NPO) and the University of Pretoria to launch this bursary fund which will provide much needed support to disadvantaged students who excel academically, ultimately enabling them to achieve a university degree.

The fundraising event, themed “WOWTown”, will be hosted by Tim Plewman of “Defending the Caveman” fame and takes place at 18:30 on 7 November 2015 at the Fiat Chrysler Fourways, 80 Hobart Road, Bryanston.

The chic event has a number of generous sponsors who have contributed towards the auction. Along with the Alfa Rome 4C Coupe, some of the other items on auction are holiday packages, exclusive game lodge packages as well as rare whiskies and wines. All proceeds from the auction will go towards the WOW Bursary Fund.

Tickets to this exclusive evening cost R500 per person and space is limited.
