Toyota Tacozilla: Bringing back the Chinook

Toyota is taking a trip back in time with their new model, the Tacozilla. An amazing name for a car that is bringing some of the 70s and 80s magic back. Back then, Toyota teamed up with an RV company, Chinook, to built a camper out of a pick-up. It was a very successful endeavour, at least in America where RVs reign supreme.

Toyota has been very getting the Tacozilla ready for the upcoming SEMA show where it will be revealed.

The Chinook-inspired Toyota Tacozilla.

At the heart of the Tacozilla is a Totoya Tacoma TRD Sport. An already impressive model that will carry a camper on its back. Inside, the company has given this model a  double bed over the top of the camper. Where the trunk would normally be, there is now a kitchen and a dining space. Toyota even managed to fit a toilet in there too.

As for performance, we are likely to see the same engine but it may be tuned for a little more powerful. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see a stronger or tuned suspension.

This year’s SEMA Show is right around the corner, November 2nd to the 5th. So the full reveal of the Toyota Tacozilla will happen very soon.
