This Lo-Res Car is an actual car

Yes, the images are of an actual, working car. This is the Lo-Res Car, a model designed and created by the United Nude footwear company. This Cybertruck-like cousin was designed by the company’s founder Rem D. Koolhaas who took inspiration from an abstract, low-resolution version of the Lamborghini Countach.

The Lo-Res Car has since been used as promotional material and has even appeared in music videos.

What makes the Lo-Res Car?

There were four prototypes made of the Lo-Res Car, each with a steel tube-frame chassis and 12 tinted clear polycarbonate panels that form the body. The head and taillights are both simple single light bars that frame the front and back. The United Nude logos are also illuminated.

The top panels open up via remote control to expose the interior. Here there are two polished metal seats in tandem, both finished with ribbed black upholstery. The space is lit up with several light bars and driven with a hexagonal steering wheel that sits in front of a simple digital display.

Moving this Car is a very tame KDS 5-kilowatt electric motor powering the rear wheels. This little car isn’t getting anywhere quickly, but it would draw a lot of attention.

A great YouTuber, Doug DeMunro takes a closer look at this strange car and we think you will enjoy his video on it.
