The next of the new generation Mazda vehicles has arrived in South Africa and it’s the BT-50 bakkie. Having launched just over a year ago in June 2020, it has undergone quite a lot of changes and even had its own limited-edition Thunder version in Australia. Now that’s its arrived locally, we have specs and pricing for the models that will be available in South Africa.

Standard features for the Mazda BT-50.

Like all of the new generation vehicles, Mazda has implemented its Kodo Design language into the BT-50, having it resemble the rest of the lineup. Most notably, this changes the front end and grille. More standard features include LED headlamps, daytime running lamps, rear combination lamps and front rain-sensing wipers.

There are six exterior colours to choose from: Concrete Grey, Rock Grey, Ingot Silver, Red Volcano and Gun Blue.

As with most of the Mazda range, the BT-50 has three derivatives – Active, Dynamic and Individual. The only difference on the outside is the badging and the wheel sizes. The Active having 17-inch wheels while the Dynamic and Individual have 18-inch wheels.
