Volkswagen Golf GTI pricing and SA launch
After the official reveal last year, Volkswagen South Africa is getting us excited about the eighth-generation Golf GTI. With a public digital reveal, we got the official sale date and local specifications.

There is only one variant of the Golf GTI, so the following is standard for all models. There is a long list of optional features which we will cover later on in this article.
Buyers will have three exterior finish options in their choice of colour:
Solid: Pure White, Urano Grey, and Moonstone Grey.
Metallic: Dolphin Grey, Atlantic Blue, Kings Red and Reflex Silver.
Pearlescent: Deep Black Pearl and Oryx White Pearl.
The Lights and Vision Package comes standard with high-beam control light assist. The new Golf GTI will also ride on eighteen-inch Richmond alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin are GTI Vienna leather seats matched with a leather-wrapped multi-function sports steering wheel. Standard features include climatronic air conditioning, Composition Media Radio, keyless locking and starting system and thirty-colour ambient lights to set the mood.
Engine details.
Powering the Volkswagen Golf GTI is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This creates 180 kW and 370 Nm which helps race the GTI from zero to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. Cruise Control (with a speed limiter) and Parking Distance Control come standard.

The Volkswagen Golf GTI comes standard with a three year/120 000km warranty, five year/ 90 000km EasyDrive Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km.
