Land Rover Defender V8 pricing
Land Rover is adding the flagship Defender V8 to the local range which means we get to see the local pricing and specifications. Before we had petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions, but now the massive V8 powered versions will be found on our roads.
Upgrades to the colour outside and the materials inside.
The V8 is being added to the Land Rover Defender 90, 110 and two Carpathian Edition models. This includes an exclusive colour (Carpathian Edition keeps its Carpathian Grey body) and upgrades to the interior trim.
The body can be distinguished by badging, quad exhausts with unique tailpipes and Satin Dark Grey 22-inch alloy wheels. Those wheels can be smaller if the buyer opts for the 20-inch rims. Behind either option will be Xenon Blue brake callipers. Finally, the Carpathian Edition will be finished with a two-tone paint scheme.
The cabin gets upgraded with a bigger 11.4-inch touchscreen and much better materials. Starting with the seats, they are trimmed in Ebony Windsor leather with Miko Suedecloth and Robustec accents. The cross-car beam gets a Satin Black finish and the steering wheel is complete with an Alcantara trim. A wireless charger with a signal booster is optionally available.

That massive JLR 5.0-litre supercharged V8 makes a return to power the Land Rover Defender with 368 kW and 625 Nm. This power goes to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Land Rover says this will get the lighter Defender 90 model from zero to 100 km/h in a quick 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. The larger Defender 110 V8 will go just a little slower than that.
Land Rover has also uniquely tuned the suspension, transmission and spring and damper rates and added a new electronic active rear differential.
