Haval H6 lands in South Africa

Having skipped the second generation in South Africa, Haval has brought the latest third-gen H6. The company claims “five-dimensional upgrades” and a “sci-fi-esc” design. Well, let’s take a closer look at exactly what to expect in South Africa.

The bold but not so sci-fi Haval H6.

We wouldn’t call it anything near sci-fi, especially if you put it next to some of the electric SUVs on the market. Nevertheless, the new Havel H6 is still a bold-looking SUV built on the same platform that the Jolion is based on.

There are three model variants and as standard, the Premium and Luxury ride on eighteen-inch wheels while the range-topping Super Luxury gets nineteen-inch alloys. There will also be seven colour options available to all three of them – Ayers Grey, Red, Hamilton White, Messiah Brown, Green, Atlantis Blue and Black.

Colour options extend to the interior.

Buyers will get to choose between four interior colour schemes – black, black and red, black and brown and black and grey. However, South Africa will primarily stock the plain black interior, so a wait of up to five months may come attached with the dual-tone versions.

No matter what colour you pick, they all come with leather seats, a push-start button and automatic headlights and wipers. To get digital, the H6 will come with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.5-inch touch screen. The latter being 12.3-inch in the Luxury and Super Luxury models, but all three variants benefit from rear parking sensors, reverse camera, six airbags and tyre pressure monitoring.

That said, the models are not all equal inside. Here are some of the extra features you will find in the Luxury model:

  • 360-degree View Camera.
  • Dual-zone climate control.
  • Front parking sensors.
  • Lane Departure Alert.
  • Panoramic sunroof.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition

To further the features, the Super Luxury model will receive:

  • Automatic tailgate.
  • Blind Spot Detection.
  • Head-up display.
  • Heated front seats.
  • Rear privacy glass.
  • Wireless phone charger.

One engine and one transmission available.

All models have the same 2-litre direct injection turbopetrol engine underneath them supplying 150 kW and 320 Nm to either two wheels (Premium and Luxury) or all four wheels (Luxury and Super Luxury). This is then controlled by the same seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
