Everrati create a 1991 Porsche 911 EV restomod
To stop classic cars from becoming undrivable, there have been many electrification projects happening just like thins 1991 Porsche 911 from Everrati. The company will take a restored 1991 Porsche 911 and electrify it. All that is required is the car itself and a lot of money.
How did the restomod change the rest of the Porsche?
The restomod begins with Everrati stripping the 911 down to its bare shell, water-blasting the chassis and treating it for rust prevention. The chassis is then seam-welded, strengthened and fabricated. After this is all done, the result according to Everrati is “better than new.”
Several of the 1991 Porsche 911’s body panels were replaced with carbon fibre, but parts of the original suspension system were kept. However, customers can opt for a fully adjustable suspension package. The brakes are upgraded too to include new ventilated discs and Brembo Porsche callipers.
The cabin doesn’t change much and that’s for the better. Although, it didn’t escape the infotainment system. Inside is the Porsche Classic Communications Management touchscreen navigation system compatible with Apple CarPlay.
The upholstery can be changed with a variety of materials at the customer’s choice, but electrical seats and climate control will be added.
Everrati electrifies the 964-generation 911.
The old engine has been completely swapped out for an electric powertrain attached to a 53 kWh battery pack. Keeping the rear-wheel drive, the electric motor can reach up to 373 kW and 500 Nm and sprint to 100 km/h in less than four seconds. Drive at a normal space and the claimed estimate range is 240 km. Charging is surprisingly quick having said to get from 10% to 100% in less than an hour.
We can expect to see a lot more of these restomods coming from both companies like Everrati and the manufacturers, like the Opel Manta EV that marks the start of several EV restomods to come.
