New Peugeot 208 in South Africa
The new Peugeot 208 has finally arrived in South Africa after two years after the announcement. Complete with its fresh new lion inspired looks and improved tech, we are excited to see the hatchback on our local roads. We have all the local specifications and price below.
The lion’s fangs and claws.
The Peugeot 208 can thank the new CMP platform that it now uses for being around 30 kg lighter than the previous generation. This is complemented by the aggressive and unique lion inspired lighting. Notice the claw LEDs in the head and taillights while the face gets fangs.
South Africa will have three variants for sale – Active, Allure and GT. As standard, the Active rides on 15-inch steel wheels. For paint, buyers get to choose the colour and the finish. There will be an option of solid, metallic, and pearlescent.
The Allure gets upgraded 16-inch alloy wheels while the GT gets 17-inch Bronx alloy wheels and more. The additional changes for the GT include extended wheel arches and a blacked-out grille, mirrors and roof.
