Special-edition Ford EcoSport Black

Launching locally, Ford South Africa has announced a special-edition EcoSport Black. Based on the EcoSport Ambiente 1.5 Auto, it received several cosmetic changes in black, hence the name. Pricing of this variant has yet to be revealed, however, it will appear in South Africa.

The only thing that changes on the Black variant of the EcoSport is the exterior paint. The following features are finished in black:

  • Decals.
  • Grille.
  • Integrated roof rails.
  • Mirror cap
  • Roof.
  • Skid plate.
  • Spare wheel cover.

In addition, the standard 15-inch alloy wheels have been upgraded to 16-inch and finished in black. As for the rest of the body colour, buyers can choose from Diamond White, Moondust Silver, Smoke, Blue Lightning, and Canyon Ridge.

The rest of the exterior and interior features on this Black edition are all the same as the Ford EcoSport Ambient trim. This includes air-conditioning, electric windows, a 4.2-inch infotainment screen, two USB ports and six speakers.

Pricing for the EcoSport Black in South Africa.

Powering this special edition of the EcoSport is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that powers the front wheels with 91 kW and 151 Nm mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability and traction control.

The EcoSport Black will start at a price of R336,900.
