Updated 2021 Jaguar I-Pace in SA

The updated 2021 Jaguar I-Pace has arrived in South Africa with specifications and pricing. Interestingly, this electric SUV is not a facelift. In fact, the design is left untouched with the exception of new optional upgrades. All the new updates are to the technology.

Stepping up to 2021 in the new Jaguar I-Pace.

As standard, the 2021 I-Pace will come with a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster and two other screens as well. These are the upper 10-inch and lower 5-inch touchscreens that now get the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system. This includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is controlled by multi-function, haptic rotary controllers that make the system easy to navigate.

Unlike it did before, the new infotainment system now gets its own power source which allows it to boot up quicker. The system has also been optimised to improve routing and include voice guidance that will keep quiet when you are in an area that you already know.

New cabin hardware.

Like most of the recent Jaguar Land Rover models, the 2021 I-Pace will come with the Clearsight rearview mirror. It uses a camera on the rear of the car to display when is behind you in the rearview mirror. The cabin will also include an air ionisation system and buyers can choose to get the optional wireless device charging pad.

As standard, the 2021 I-Pace comes with an onboard  11 kW charger. This will charge the car to full in just 8.6 hours from an 11 kW wallbox. If one is not available, a standard wall plug will fully charge the I-Pace in 12.75 hours. The total range Jaguar says this full charge will give is 470 km.

Optional design changes.

There is a new optional Bright Pack that will add a chrome grille surround and window surrounds, grey side-mirror caps and a grey finish for the rear diffuser. There are also new colours to choose from for the exterior paint finish. These are Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey.
