New Naran based on BMW’s M8
They are an industry newcomer called Naran Automotive and they have recently revealed their first product. The brand is calling it the Naran, which can be a little confusing when talking about it. For now, we will just say the Naran.
The car is a limited-run hyper-coupé based on the BMW M8. Only 49 units will be created.
Based on an M8 and inspired by GT3.
Inspired by the current GT3 racecars, the Naran is a sleek and aggressive styled hypercar. However, it still keeps the 2+2 seating configuration from the M8.
The whole body is made from an ultra-lightweight carbon-composite with features like an elongated bonnet, large wing and huge front intakes. The front includes a single-piece front splitter while the rear naturally has a diffuser.
Even the wheels are built to be as lightweight as possible. They are 22-inches of hybrid-carbon. Lastly, the side aero blade that exposes the front wheel arch. It does this for cooling and more aerodynamics helping the car reach a claimed 1377kg of downforce.
781 kW behind the Naran.
With all hypercars, we want to know what drives them and how fast they go. This Naran still employs the M8’s twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, but they have seriously upgraded it. Knocking it up to 5.0-litres, the engine now produces 781 kW and 1036 Nm.
This should get the car to 60 mph, or 97 km/h to the rest of the world, in just 2.3 seconds and up to a top speed of over 370 km/h.
The Naran has kept the M8’s all-wheel-drive system but has also added a rear-wheel-drive selector. In addition to that, the hypercar was given a race-derived double-wishbone suspension with adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, camber and toe angle.
