2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR gets faster

After updating the F-Pace, Jaguar has now revised the range-topping SVR and have made it even faster. The SVR and the whole F-Pace range has switched over to Jaguar’s new Electronic Vehicle Architecture. They are not turning them into EVs though.

In addition to getting faster, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR gets updates to its styling, aerodynamics and drivetrain. Let’s start with the looks.

Refreshed Jaguar F-Pace SVR design.

The biggest change to the exterior design is the front bumper. It is now larger and features more square air-intakes for a stronger look. Jaguar says this helps the brake and engine cooling which is a little obvious unless they are fake. Don’t worry though, we think they are not.

The front end gets changed a little more with a wider and flatter front splitter which apparently contributes to the 35% reduction in aerodynamic lift. Above all of this are new LED headlights that can optionally be upgraded with pixel LED tech.

Speaking of upgrades, one upgrade that adds a lot to the looks are optional 22-inch alloy wheels. They are huge.

Upgraded materials and the latest tech.

Inside the Jaguar F-Pace SVR gains an upgrade in material and tech. There is a lot of Alcantara, it features on the seats, door inserts and surrounds the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The latter gaining ebony contrast stitching. More aluminium finishers feature as standard too, but a buyer could get that replaced with carbon-fibre.

If the already fancy seats were not enough, Jaguar also offers optional “slim-line” semi-aniline leather sports seats. These feature a heritage logo-inspired diamond embroidery across the front shoulder section and unique perforation across the backrest.

As this is the latest model, it features the latest technologies found in the updated range. This includes Pivi Pro infotainment, Software-Over-Air capability, Active Road Noise Cancellation and the latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

Jaguar managed to make the SVR go even faster.

The engine that powered the previous Jaguar F-Pace SVR stays the same in the new model. This is a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 with 405 kW. Jaguar did still manage to get  20 Nm out of it getting up to 700 Nm. The  Jaguar F-Pace SVR has also switched to the eight-speed torque-converter transmission used in the XE SV Project 8.

Minor tweaks have been made by Jaguar to the dynamic mode and a new launch control setting. Both of which help the quicker pull off. This and the above upgrades have allowed the Jaguar F-Pace SVR to shave 3 tenths of a second off the zero to 100 km/h sprint.

This new model gets there in just 4 seconds flat. The top speed gets a little higher too, going to 286 km/h.

To follow the improved performance, Jaguar has updated the steering system of the F-Pace SVR. They say it gives greater immediacy while the tuning of the adaptive damping provides a more refined ride at low speeds.
