2020 Toyota Agya has arrived
Do you remember the 2020 Toyota Agya reveal? Well now the full specs and price have been revealed and we have the details.
This 2020 Agya is not to be confused with the Toyota Aygo, the car it is replacing. The names are incredibly similar, something we think is either overlooked or a cleaver replacement strategy. The naming convention gets even more tangled considering Toyota are basing the car off of the Daihatsu Ayla.
New details for the 2020 Toyota Agya.
Previously, we discussed the design details but here are the basics to catch you up. Toyota is making the 2020 Agya bigger than the Aygo, but not by much. It measures in at 3 660 mm long, 1 600 mm wide and 1 520 mm tall.
It’s a very light car with a dry weight of 835 kg and it has a ground clearance of 180 mm. This height is partially due to the 14-inch alloy wheels that come standard on all models.
While we have seen the exterior before, we have yet to take a look at the cabin. A rather simple black interior is highlighted with grey details and stitching on the upholstery. The luggage capacity comes in at 260-litres which is a fair amount less than the Polo Vivo, one of it’s biggest competitors.
There are a few ease of life features that come as standard. These include airconditioning, power steering and electric windows. All models will also receive a start button located to the right of the steering wheel. As standard, all models are Totota Connect enabled too.
While all 2020 Toyota Agya models come with two speakers, only the higher-spec cars get a double din system. Continuing with the higher-spec models, they will also receive a USB and Aux port. Bluetooth is included at the top of the range.
Dealers are offering an audio upgrade that will include a touchscreen system that comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
Performance and safety.
As a lightweight vehicle, the naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine should hold its own. With 50 kW and 89 Nm, small town and city driving should be just fine, especially with a fuel consumption of 4.8L/100 km. That’s 0.5 litres higher than the Aygo.
This system comes mated to a choice of a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. It will also get you to 100 km/h in 14 seconds and reach a top speed of 165 km/h. As for safety, ABS brakes with EBD are standard with two airbags.

The 2020 Toyota Agya comes with a three-year/100 000 km warranty is included in the price, along with a two-service/20 000 km service plan.
