Series 1 Ford Mustang GT RTR upgrade

The Performance Centre South Africa has been appointed as the local distributor of Vaughn Gittin’s Authentic RTR Vehicles including the Series 1 Ford Mustang GT. This has been put together in collaboration with Vaughn Gittin Jr., a World Champion drifter who co-developed the Series 1 Mustang GT RTR. This version of the Mustang will be available for both the 2.3-litre and the 5.0-litre V8 models.

“Our goal was to take the driving and owner experience of the iconic Ford Mustang to the next level. This collaboration has created a Mustang that offers smile-inducing street driving, diverse capability on the track and a very distinctive owner experience for those looking to stand out from the crowd.” – Vaughn Gittin Jr.

This upgraded Ford Mustang will be getting a whole array of RTR exterior upgrades. Most notably, the grille has a fresh design with LEDs to create the horse’s nostrils. This makes for a particularly mean look with the additional RTR front, rocker and quarter splitters, rear diffuser, Gurney flap and puddle lamps. Additional RTR styling comes with unique graphics and badges.

As we mentioned, the Ford Mustang GT RTR has two model versions. The 2.3-litre gets all the upgraded standard equipment while the 5.0-litre gets a few extras as optional upgrades.

The standard equipment includes a whole range of Ford Performance parts. For starters, we have the suspension which features adjustable sway bars which adapt the chassis balance. Ford Performance Track Handling Pack lowers the Mustang by 25 mm and puts focus on track performance. New hood struts and aluminium strut tower brace all fall under the Ford Performance standard parts as well.

The 5.0-litre gets a few more options that buyers can choose to add when purchasing. This includes a Ford Performance supercharger which is there for those who want even more power in their Mustang. This pushes the performance numbers to a massive 526 kW and 820 Nm.

“The new RTR Vehicles Series 1 Mustang focuses on precise street performance, intense agility on the track as well as a driver-centric experience that makes it a powerhouse to drive.” – Grant Askham, CEO of Performance Centre South Africa.
