Isuzu D-MAX wins Zimbabwe Car of the Year 2020

After delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zimbabwe Car of the Year 2020 has been announced and awarded to the Isuzu D-MAX. As a light commercial vehicle (LCVs) that up a quarter of its categories sales in Zimbabwe, it came as no surprise when it won the Car of the Year 2020.

The award started at the end of 2019. Due to the restrictions of lockdown, it had to be postponed because drive tests and evaluations were restricted. The competition then went online, this created a chance for the public to vote for their favourite vehicles which turned out to be the Isuzu D-MAX.

The Isuzu D-MAX carries a lot of presence for both function and leisure.

The brand has been a popular choice in Zimbabwe for a number of years and for good reason. It functions well as both a workhorse and a day-to-day vehicle. Powered by a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine, it gives up to 14- kW and 450 Nm underneath its rugged exterior.

Coming with numerous off-road qualities too, it drives on all four wheels and has a wading depth of 800mm. For easier driving, it comes standard with Hill Descent, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Stability Control, Hillstart Assist, 8-way parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert.

While still a capable working car, Isuzu has made the interior design more lifestyle-focused. From comfier materials to more adjustable space, it’s a big improvement from the model’s previous generations. It also comes with a nine-inch infotainment system that can connect to Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.
