BMW teases the new M4 coupé
All covered in camouflage, BMW has revealed images showing off the upcoming M4. These images from BMW include a coupé and the M4 GT3 racing prototype. Both fitted with the giant grille and mean look that BMW has been showing us before.
The M4 GT3 takes that grill a step further, notice the red highlighting it and the massive horizontal slats. Truly a mean-looking racing prototype in its camouflage version.
There will be two versions of the new BMW M4.
Both versions that have been confirmed by BMW will be using a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder engine. Right now there are only manual transmissions fitted with rear-wheel drive although there may be exceptions to come in the future.
The first of the two versions will produce 353 kW and 650 Nm and come with a six-speed gearbox. The M4 Competition version will get to 375 kW and 650 Nm. It will make use of an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. While rear-wheel drive in confirmed, BMW will be offering an all-wheel-drive version of the new Competition M4.
BMW’s M Division says that there will be other chassis improvements for the new generation. The exact improvements are yet to be revealed but we imagine those details will come closer to the official launch set for September 2020.
