Japan give the Suzuki Swift a facelift
The Suzuki Swift hatchback has received a facelift in its home country, Japan. We can expect this same facelift to be announced in other parts of the world too. While the facelift is mostly a design change, in Japan there are a few mechanical upgrades too that might be available in South Africa too. 
Suzuki Swift’s new facelift.
A new spec-dependent honeycomb grille is surrounded by a restyled front bumper. Divided by a horizontal bar, the facelift looks very good while still looking exactly like a Suzuki Swift. There are also new alloy wheel designs and new two-tone colour scheme options in Japan making this new Swift a little more unique.
Not much is changing inside, with only a few subtle trim changes, the interior is left relatively untouched. A new six-speaker sound system is the only big addition with automatic headlamps thrown in on top of the tech. 
The same engine with new tech.
There are no updates on a new engine for the facelift. So, we can expect the same 1,2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine to continue. There is still some new driver assistance tech coming with the Suzuki Swift facelift including active cruise control, 360-degree camera and rear cross-traffic alert.
Will this facelift make you want to trade in your current Suzuki Swift for the new one? Probably not, but it does make this fun-loving hatchback a better consideration for your next purchase. We look forward to seeing how the Swift will change when it reaches our South African shores.
