Isuzu D-MAX range goes automatic
With the latest trend of Automatic pickups, Isuzu will not be falling behind this year with the D-Max range. There has been an increase in demand for automatic transmissions, and that is why more brands are offering automatic models of their cars.
What is replacing the manual transmission
We can expect the drive and performance to be the same for these automatic Isuzu’s. Each model is fitted with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine with 100 kW and 320 Nm of torque and has a maximum towing capacity of 2 100 kg. They have all been given a 5-speed automatic option too.
There is one exception – the bigger D-MAX 300 Hi-Ride Double Cab – which is getting a 6-speed to go along with its 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine that gives 130 kW and 380 Nm of torque.
What can we expect from the X-Rider?
When we think of an Isuzu D-MAX we think of the X-Rider. This striking bakkie stands out from its family. It comes with daytime LEDs running next to projector-style headlights and fog lights. It also comes with newly designed 18-inch alloys wheels. The interior features a lot of leather with nice red stitching that really emphasizes the X-Rider look.
Isuzu keeps its safety features
Of course, they did. Each car comes with ABS brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control, as well as Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC).
Looking to buy one
Fortunately, we already know exactly what to expect from the manual models we have seen last year. Every model comes standard with a five-year/120 000 km warranty and a five-year/unlimited km anti-corrosion warranty and a five-year/90 000 km Service Plan.
