Ferrari announces two new 599 GTB Fiorano models
This month that Ferrari was readying a limited edition 599 GTB Fiorano, but the rumor mill has once again been proven wrong. Ferrari has created two limited editions of the 599, with both models slated to debut at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.
The first special edition 599, dubbed the 599 HGTE (Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione), will follow in the footsteps of the 575 M GTC and the 612 Scaglietti HGT-S, focusing more on all around performance rather than the car’s engine bay.
Ferrari didn’t disclose the details of the HGTE package in its press release, but changes from the standard car are expect to include an F430 Scuderia-inspired front grille, unique 20 inch wheels and revised exhaust outlets. Handling will be improved via stiffer springs and thicker anti-roll bars. Inside, the HGTE will sport new seats with carbon fiber shells. Power will remain unchanged at 612 horsepower.
The HGTE package (pictured) will reportedly tack $30,000 onto the base price of the 599, but we’ll have to wait for official pricing to know for sure.
Joining the 599 HGTE on Ferrari’s stage at the Geneva show will be the 599XX, a car the Italian automaker calls a “technological laboratory”. Much like the Enzo-based FXX, the 599XX will likely be a track-only car, “aimed at a select group of clients”.
