Olivier Francois, Fiat CEO and CMO Global of Stellantis states, “Fiat has once again confirmed its global success, contributing substantially to the Group’s results. In terms of volumes, Fiat is the leading brand in Stellantis with more than 1.2 million units registered in 2022, including Fiat, Abarth and Fiat Professional vehicles. We are the absolute market leader in Brazil, Italy and Turkey, and we are accelerating towards a sustainable future with the electric New 500 that registered nearly 120 thousand units in 2022 since its launch. And thanks to the synergies embedded in the Stellantis Group, in 2023 FIAT will continue offering socially relevant solutions, presenting four new products.”

In Europe Fiat has always been a leader in the city-car market. Specifically, in a context of growing attention to environmental issues, last year the New 500 – Fiat’s electric icon – registered more than 66,000 vehicles out of 120,000 units globally since its launch. This incredible success makes it the best-selling electric car in the Italian market, second in Spain, and third in Germany. In addition, it is the third best-selling BEV in the 10 major European markets and is Stellantis Group’s best-selling electric vehicle. In the city car segment, also worth noting is the performance of the Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda, the two icons, respectively first and second in the segment, together achieved a 43.8% market share during the year, reaffirming the European leadership of Fiat. Lastly, the brand was No. 1 in Italy with a 15.1% market share.

Fiat is by far the best-selling brand in South America, with a 13.6% market share and the absolute leader in Brazil, the most important market for the brand. In 2022 it registered more than 430,000 units and recorded a 21.9% share – its best annual performance as well as the best of any brand in the past decade. Extraordinary results were achieved thanks to some models that won the hearts of Brazilians in the different segments: 24.7% share among small cars, almost 50% among pickups and 37.1% in the van category. And for the second year in a row, the Fiat Strada is the best-selling vehicle just as the Fiat Toro is the most purchased C-pickup in the country. The Cronos sedan has performed well, selling 49% more than in 2021, as well as the Pulse compact SUV, which exceeded 50 thousand vehicles sold in the year.

The performance in the MEA Region is quite remarkable, especially in the Turkish market where Fiat, for the fourth year in a row, was the best-selling brand accounting for 18.7% of the market share. The absolute star was most definitely the Fiat Tipo, which secured the title of the best-selling car in the country and that of queen of its segment, with more than 50% preference from the customers.
