Isuzu Motors South Africa, has signed up to be a hosting partner at the 2022 National Association of Automotive Business Council of South Africa (SA) Auto Week.

SA Auto Week, which will take place from 24 -30 October, is the largest and only premium business-to-business event in the country’s motoring calendar hosted by all 48 automotive brands in South Africa.
naamsa will host several activities including a 3-day Thought Leadership Indaba that will focus on key industry topics for South Africa and Africa under the theme: “REIMAGINING THE FUTURE TOGETHER – The Rise of the African Auto Industry: investing in new energy vehicles, infrastructure, and people”.
The strategic focus of the Thought Leadership Indaba is to provide meaningful dialogue through keynote addresses, a series of panel discussions and breakaway sessions on a variety of topics that are key to the recovery, growth, and development of the automotive industry. Isuzu Motors executives will be participating in several of the discussions, including:
- Billy Tom, President and CEO of Isuzu Motors South Africa will be speaking to industry colleagues regarding the Future of Mobility and the skills needed to move the industry forward.
- Penelope Mkhwanazi, Senior Vice President: Revenue Generation Rest of Africa and International Markets will join a panel that will unpack Regional Market Development and Driving the development of the auto industry across Africa.
- Chule Qalase, Senior Manager: CSR & Sustainability will be partaking in a breakaway session on Recycling and reusing to reduce waste and protect the environment.

Isuzu will also be showcasing its BOLD product line including the All-New Isuzu mu-X and D-MAX as well as the Isuzu NPR 400 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Truck and the NPS 300 Crew Cab SWA 4X4 will participate in the 4X4 Drive Carnival.
In addition to this the never-seen-before D-MAX ARCTIC AT35 test vehicle will be on display on the Isuzu exhibition stand. This model is still under consideration for the South African market.
Isuzu is currently evaluating the use of alternate propulsion technologies that may be suitable for the African market. “This is part of Isuzu’s drive to offer unique solutions to customers and offer added value for large fleet owners who demand low running costs and reliability while minimising the impact on the environment,” says Celestin Ndhlovu, Vice President Strategy Business Planning and Marketing.
For the first time in the history of the industry in Africa, the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA) will bring the world’s industry giants to South Africa for futuristic and ground-breaking discussions and potential business opportunities.
The event, which will be held at the Kyalami Grand Prix and International Conference Centre, will play host to the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) General Assembly and its council meeting.
