Volta says its finished the Zero EV truck

Volta Zero

The EV startup Volta Trucks has announced that it has finalised the design for the truck, Zero. The company claims to be production-ready. But as with all EV startups, this doesn’t mean it will be going into production anytime soon.

The Swedish company does have big plans to get their very cool looking trucks transporting goods all around Europe.

We love the design of the Volta Zero.

The images show the final design that Volta has created for the Zero. Before they go any further, they plan to create 25 prototypes to be tested in 2022. This may be all personal opinion,  but we really hope that this EV can make it past the startup stage. The truck looks great, uses electric power to get around and gives the driver some much-needed features for long journey’s.

As standard, the central driving position gets air-conditioning and heated and cooled seats. That seat is flanked by two other seats that gt the same benefits, making this truck capable of fitting three people. This also avoids the change in driving sides that countries like France have. It does mean that no matter what, you are sitting right next to someone.

The revealed specifications are still subject to change.

We aren’t going to pretend like we know trucks as well as cars, so if there is anyone that is in the know, tell us if the following specifications would be viable for a truck to have.

The Volta Zero is fitted with either a 150 kWh or a 225 kWh battery pack. This will give the truck a range of 150 km and 200 km respectively. The motor itself doesn’t change which tops out at a speed of 90 km/h. The loadspace itself has an area of 37.7 m3 and can take a payload of up to 8,600 kg.

Regardless of these specifications being impressive or not, we hope that support for electric trucks can continue and improve to become something that is more viable in the future.
