Jaguar E-Pace update for 2021

Jaguar E-Pace 2021

The compact SUV, Jaguar E-Pace, has recently received an update that will make its way to South Africa. Better yet, Jaguar has confirmed the local specifications for the new E-Pace too. It comes with small updates to the exterior and cabin.

I-Pace inspired looks for an E-Pace.

A lot of the new features have been inspired by the latest I-Pace, the electric cousin to the Jaguar E-Pace. The exterior receives an updated mesh grille and bumpers. That grille is flanked by updated headlights that can come with Pixel LED technology if opted for. Another optional feature is the Black Exterior Pack that adds a Narvik Black finish to several exterior elements.

The cabin is said to have received a material upgrade as well as a massive 11.4-inch curved-glass touchscreen infotainment system. That system gets the new Pivi Pro system. While that is a notable upgrade, the stand out change inside is a conventional transmission shifter that replaces the rotary dial selector.

Engine options for the Jaguar E-Pace.

The update is just a facelift with design and tech upgrades. So, Jaguar has kept the same engine options that were available previously. This is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that can be fueled by either petrol or diesel. This engine powers all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The more powerful engine option comes with the P300e variant with plug-in hybrid technology. It uses a 147 kW 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in combination with an 80 kW rear axle electric motor to create a total of 227 kW and 540 Nm.
