SVI is a specialist manufacturer of armoured products and has just created their new entry-level vehicle, the Max 3. The SVI Max 3 is based on the already well known Toyota Land Cruiser, replacing parts to turn it into a bulletproof monster.
Two benefits to this particular vehicle are its cost-effectiveness (for an armoured truck) and that drivers won’t need a special licence. You can drive this car with a standard driver’s licence.
Underneath this SVI Max 3 is a Land Cruiser.
You can almost see the Land Cruiser under the massive armoured steel shell that replaces the body. SVI removed the original soft-skin body, replacing it with an armoured steel body to create the Max 3. This will provide protection from assault rifles and additional protection against anti-personnel mines.
For the unique people and organisations that are in the market for this armoured car, SVI offers the Max 3 in single cab, double cab and personnel carrier variants. The latter can fit up to eight people inside.
The brand also offers additional upgrades that give the Max 3 a B7 grading. If you understand what that means, please let us know. What we do know is that it will offer even more blast protection.
Beefed up load-rate to make up for the extra mass.
Powering this armoured car is a 4.5-litre V8 turbodiesel engine with 151 kW and 450 Nm. Even with the additional weight, this will get the car just above 140 km/h.
To make up for that additional weight, the Land Cruiser base was fitted with rims and tyres with a higher load rating. Along with that, there is an upgraded suspension and an additional anti-roll bar.
SVI art starting the Max3 ar R1.6 million which is a lot more than the Land Cruiser underneath all the armour. This price can quickly go up with additional upgrades which we are sure you want if you are in the market of cars that stop you from blowing up.
