McLaren Artura; name reveal for their next hybrid super car

Hybrid McLaren Artura

McLaren has revealed the name of their next-generation hybrid supercar, it’s called Artura. It’s a High-performance Hybrid, or HPH, that will be built on an entirely new platform.

“Every element of the Artura is all-new – from the platform architecture and every part of the High-Performance Hybrid powertrain, to the exterior body, interior and cutting-edge driver interface – but it draws on decades of McLaren experience in pioneering super-lightweight race and road car technologies to bring all of our expertise in electrification to the supercar class.” – Mike Flewitt, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive

What do we know about the new hybrid McLaren Artura?

Planned to launch in 2021, we can expect the same electric expertise shown from the P1 and the Speedtail. The latter being the brand’s fastest car right now. Like Mike Flewitt mentioned, everything about this car is new, including the engine.

That engine will be a twin-turbocharged V6 that will work with an electric motor to perform just as well or even better than the brand’s V8 engines. Official outputs have yet to be revealed for the McLaren Artura, but we expect that the performance to be very impressive. Especially with the emphasis on everything being new.

Right now, all we have visually of the HPH is this animated graphic of its name. Green might just the theme of the newcomer.
