South African Volkswagen Polo Vivo Mswenko

Volkswagen Polo Vivo Mswenko

A specially built South African Volkswagen Polo Vivo will be launching locally in October 2020 with a whole lot of Mswenko. The ranges name, Mswenko (pronounced m-swe-nkoh) is isiZulu slang for the word ‘swag’. Something this Polo Vivo has a lot of.

It comes as no surprise that Volkswagen picked the Polo Vivo to make a South African special edition out of. The car is the locally best selling car with around 261,285 units sold since March 2010. We all know it has an affordable, high-quality and practical car that has a lot of style. Now, you can get it with even more.

You will be driving in style with this Polo Vivo Mswenko.

“The Polo Vivo Mswenko, which is based on the 1.4 63kW Comfortline manual, is a fashion-inspired derivative which features unique styling details and serves to appeal to customers that are dynamic and young at heart.” – Mike Glendinning, Sales and Marketing Director for Volkswagen Group South Africa (VWSA).

With unique Mswenko side decals, black painted roof and 16-inch alloy wheels finished in Anthracite (better known as coal). It’s an ‘impossible to miss’ Volkswagen Polo Vivo on the street. The Mswenko also comes with chrome tip exhaust, privacy glass in two colour variants and the option of four body colour options. These are Pure White, Reflex Silver, Limestone Grey and Reef Blue. Our favourite is the blue which we can see in the images.

The Mswenko continues through to the interior.

The most in your face change to the interior are the new Ocean Blue seats. Other standard features include silver dashboard inserts and the leather package which adds leather to the steering wheel, gear lever and gear knob. Above you, we see the return of anthracite on the headliner while you are surrounded by a six-speaker sound system.

After so many supercar special edition launches, it’s refreshing to see something with local flavour and still within an affordable range.

Recommended retail price in South Africa.

The Polo Vivo Mswenko comes standard with a three year/120,000km warranty and a six-year anti-corrosion warranty. A Volkswagen Maintenance Plan as well as a Volkswagen Service Plan are available as options. Service interval is 15,000km.
