BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition

BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition

If a shadow is not dark, then this limited-edition BMW X7 would have issues. Fortunately, shadows are dark. BMW has made a Dark Shadow Edition of their X7 SUV and if you aren’t lucky, you might just lose it at night. There will only be 500 of these cars produced, starting in August, and we do not know if South Africa is on BMWs list. Either way, we are excited to take a look at this new trim.

The BMW X7 Dark Shadow is the stealthiest SUV around.

There are only 2 major changes to the design and they are colour and wheels. Finished in Frozen Arctic Grey, it’s not a standard pitch-black SUV, but it does have many high-gloss black trims. They are on the roof rails, wing mirrors, door trim, b and C pillar and air inlets. It will ride on massive 22-inch V-spoke alloys complete with a Jett Black finish and at the back are black chrome exhaust ends. As a whole, this X7 Dark Shadow is one mean looking BMW.

The cabin has had the same treatment as the exterior.  Dark blue and black two-tone Merino leather has been used for the upholstery, filling the interior with soft-touch. The leather can be seen on the seats, door panels, armrests and dashboard.

BMW’s optional features become standard for this Dark Shadow.

The Dark Shadow edition of the BMW X7 will still use the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox to drive 390 kW and 750 Nm to all 4 wheels.

As BMW usually does with special editions, several optional features become standard. The Shadow Edition will get BMW Driving Assistance Professional Package, Cold Weather Package, Luxury Seating Package and the Executive Package.

It’s as stealthy as a big SUV can get and it doesn’t add unnecessary design elements to make it unique. We really like the look of it and hope that a few might make their way to South Africa. Just so we can see one on the road.
