Mini reveals a facelift of the Countryman

Mini Cooper Countryman 2020 facelift

Mini has recently unveiled the new facelift of the Cooper Countryman that is expected the be available in the last quarter of 2020. We can expect to see both Cooper Countryman and the S variant in South Africa too. Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect the Countryman to have this year.

The Mini Countryman looks sturdy and strong with this facelift.

The design looks strong and sturdy with a newly designed grille and updated bumper in the front. The LED Headlights and foglamps come standard with the LED taillights in the classic Union Jack design. It all looks very good along with the new 19-inch alloy wheels and the Piano Black Exterior styling package that we can see in the above image. Overall, it looks a little more off-road worthy even though you are probably going to drive this car on the road next to the country like the name suggests.

An updated interior with more tech.

With new standard tech in the infotainment, we like the new interior. There is a new 5-inch driver’s display in full colour and a large 8-inch infotainment touch screen in the centre of the dashboard that gets a lovely gloss black finish. You can now also have a SIM card in your car to always have some connectivity for Mini Connected.

The sports steering wheel gets an update with some leather. As an option, you can also choose to have more leather around the cabin. Comfort has been improved with a height-adjustable front seat not only for the driver but the passenger too. The layout of all the controls have been adjusted for ease of use and if you want to pack the boot, you have 450-litres to do that with.

Only two petrol options will be available.

Mini has not mentioned any changes to the engine. What we do know is that at launch there will only be two petrol variants available. So, no diesel and no hybrid yet, but we can hope for a hybrid with the current trends going more electric.

If you are a Mini fan looking for a larger car to drive around the roads in the countryside, keep your eyes open for more updates toward the end of this year.
